Our trains operate three return trips daily, with charters by arrangement.

The trains between Waihi & Waikino take 30 minutes to cover the 6.5km journey.
Tickets, souvenirs & quality refreshments are available at the Waikino Station Café.
Winter Operations
Closed: Tues, Wed, Thurs, 23 June-2 July & 28 July-27 Aug
Full operations recommence 28 Aug.
Charter tours will still run by arrangement on any day during winter.
Fares:
Adults: $15 return $10 one way
Children 5 to 14 yrs:$8 return $6 one way
Children 2-4 yrs: gold coin donation
Children under 2 yrs: Free
Senior Citizens: $10 return $8 one way
Family concession of two adults & two children:
$38 return, $28 one way
Education group concessions available
Wheelchair facilities are available at both stations, with a special passenger car available by prior arrangement
All our passenger cars and facilities are a smoke free zone
Animals on a leash are welcome to travel with their owners in the open car only
Join us for a leisurely trip to historic Waikino in the
Karangahake Gorge. The coffee is great.
