Timetable

Scheduled passenger services will operate from Friday to Monday inclusive, except during the summer and school holidays (see our Extended Timetable).

 

From 26th of December 2011 onwards, we will be running trains 3 times a day.

DEPARTS WAIHI: 10am, 11.45am, 1.45pm
RETURNING FROM WAIKINO: 11am, 1pm, 2.30pm

  • Times are subject to change without notice.
  • The trains between Waihi and Waikino take 30 minutes to cover the 6.5km journey.
  • Tickets, souvenirs and quality refreshments are available at the Waikino Station Café.

 

Extended Timetable 

An extended 7 day a week timetable will be operated during school holidays and also January and February with the same daily traffic (except for Christmas Day).

Special excursions can be arranged for any of the days we are not usually operating. All enquiries to the General Manager or phone 07 863 9020.

Note: The train service operates entirely on voluntary staff.
