Goldfields Railway’s Operations Manager Jucey King is all smiles to see the award-winning Price shunter back in operating condition.
The 1944-era locomotive has had its Isuzu Diesel engine replaced, due to an unusual problem with the one installed by Life Member Phil Boyd back when he restored the machine.
Phil kindly donated a new engine of the same series, which he rebuilt himself to his usual high standards and then had delivered to Waihi Station.
A big thanks goes to Phil, Anton Douglas, Dale Riddle and our hard-working R&M Team for getting Loco 1 back into excellent operating condition.
