Goldfields Railway in Waihi is seeking a retired automotive spray painter.
The Project
- The Mission: Repaint an historic 1960s diesel locomotive.
- The Goal: Restore a piece of New Zealand rail heritage.
- The Location: Goldfields Railway workshop in Waihi.
- The Timeline: Flexible hours to suit your schedule.
What You Will Do
- Prepare metal surfaces for painting.
- Apply primer and topcoat layers.
- Restore original livery colour schemes.
- Share trade skills with interested volunteers.
Who We Are Looking For
- Retired professional automotive spray painter.
- Experience with heavy vehicles or large machinery.
- Knowledge of surface prep and rust treatment.
- Passion for mechanical restoration and heritage.
- Strong commitment to workshop safety standards.
